Publisher THQ today announced that the PC version of Homefront--which already has a sequel in the works--is currently in development at Canadian shop Digital Extremes. Even the Golden Gate Bridge isn't safe.
The publisher also revealed details on the computer installment, saying it will feature additional options and features that its console cousins won't have access to. Aimed at multiplayer fans, the additional features are clan support and dedicated servers, which allow players to set up and host games.
Homefront takes place in 2027 during a time when North Korean forces have invaded the United States. Players fight as part of a rebel group against the occupying forces, ultimately attempting to thwart their hostile advances.
The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Homefront are currently in development at Kaos Studios. All versions of the game are currently scheduled to arrive in "early 2011." Digital Extremes was the outfit behind D3 Publisher's 2008 sci-fi shooter Dark Sector. Most recently, the studio developed BioShock 2's multiplayer component.
