Halo Infinite boss Joseph Staten recently answered 117 questions about Halo, including when we might see Master Chief's face and if the super-soldier would enjoy pumpkin spice lattes.
Speaking to Game Informer as part of its rapid-fire Q&A series, Staten was asked if Microsoft will ever show Master Chief's face. Staten said it depends on the context and what a particular piece of storytelling was trying to achieve, adding that it's unlikely to happen in the games specifically.

"I think it all depends on what your goals are, but for the games, I think that anonymous hero is an important thing," Staten said.
Halo creator Bungie created sketch of what Master Chief's face looks like, but it is currently "locked away very deep in the Bungie vaults." That said, Master Chief designer Marcus Lehto previously described Chief's face as looking "heroic but also kinda brutal," noting that he is bald and has scars covering his face.
Master Chief's story will be explored further in the upcoming Halo TV show for Paramount+, but whether or not we'll see his face on the show remains to be seen. The first full-length trailer for the show is slated to premiere during The Game Awards in December.
Also in the interview, Staten was asked if Master Chief would enjoy pumpkin spice lattes if they existed in his universe. "No. He doesn't do pumpkin spice," Staten replied emphatically.
More seriously, Staten also teased that classic Halo maps could be brought back for Halo Infinite and said additional weapons will be added to the game over time.
In perhaps the most important Halo news in recent days, Microsoft also recently confirmed that Master Chief pees in his suit and smells very bad.
Halo Infinite's multiplayer beta is out now and recently passed 200,000 peak concurrent players on Steam. The surge in players was likely driven in part by the launch of the Fracture: Tenrai event, which adds new cosmetics and a new Fiesta mode, among other things. Check out our rundown of Fracture: Tenrai to learn more.
And in other news, Microsoft recently explained why delaying Halo Infinite's campaign co-op feature was the right thing to do.
