DreamCatcher Interactive's upcoming first-person shooter Iron Storm is set in the year 1964, but in an alternate history in which World War I never ended. Players will enter a world that combines the trench warfare of the early 20th century with later technology such as radar, helicopters, and electronics. The game's single-player campaign lets players undertake a mission that could put an end to the war once and for all, but they must first survive battles against a variety of different types of enemies, each of which has a different style of combat.

　　The game's unusual setting makes it possible to feature a wide range of weapons, including short sabers, MP-6 assault pistols, M910 shotguns, M203 40mm grenade launchers, fragmentation and smoke grenades, and antipersonnel and magnetic mines. Battles will include traditional World War I elements like machine gun bunkers, barbed wire, minefields, and gas warfare, but they will also have attack helicopters and modern tank warfare. In addition to the single-player campaign, Iron Storm will feature a multiplayer mode that supports up to 16 players.
