LOS ANGELES--Last month the NBA extended its publishing partnerships with major publishers Electronic Arts and 2K. Now, another publisher is crafting an NBA-branded game. Majesco goes from Jaws to the hardwood with today's announcement.
Majesco--which just last week confirmed it was bringing back the Jaws franchise--announced today that it had entered into a new partnership with the NBA to commence development of an "original video game basketball franchise."
Majesco did not name the new project, but did say that it will ship during spring 2012 and will leverage motion-based gaming technology. According to its publisher, the unnamed game will be a "casual" basketball experience.
Outside of that information, the publisher did not offer much more, but did note that it will be "unlike most traditional sports video games."
