Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is an early success for publisher Bandai Namco. The action RPG retelling of the classic DBZ story has already sold over 1.5 million copies since its release on January 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

　　Bandai Namco revealed the news in an investor-focused post on its Japanese website, saying that the goal for Kakarot is to reach two million copies sold this year. That would put it within touching distance of the sales figures for previous Dragon Ball games like Dragon Ball: Xenoverse and Dragon Ball FighterZ. Kakarot didn't do quite enough to dethrone the latter's record as the fastest-selling game in series' history, though, with FighterZ selling two million copies during its first week on sale back in 2018.

Zooming around the environments and seeing the world up close is a blast, and it's great being able to interact with so many fun DBZ characters and see stories that usually get passed over for game adaptations. And even though combat can be a bit lacking, when the big battles happen, they feel suitably epic and engaging. If you're looking for an enjoyable way to see the life and times of adult Goku through a new perspective, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will grant your wish."
