Disney Dreamlight Valley sports a substantial collection of beloved characters to unlock, a smorgasbord of items with which you can decorate your valley, and a fairly massive collection of adorable companions you can befriend. How to get the Rainbow Fox in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Getting the Rainbow Fox is a long and sometimes frustrating affair. This secretive questline isn't marked in your menus and requires you to track down and find a variety of colorful potatoes and turn them into potions. We aren't sure why potatoes are the necessary items you'll be finding, but we're certain that developer Gameloft went to great lengths to be sure that the Rainbow Fox would take plenty of time and effort to uncover so as to effectively make it a rare and coveted companion.

　　Here's the step-by-step process you'll want to follow to get everything needed to make the Rainbow Potion and obtain the Rainbow Fox. Note that you must unlock the Golden Potato first before any others will show up in the game.

　　

Get the Golden Potato

The Golden Potato is a quick and easy find--just head over to Scrooge McDuck's shop and interact with the safe on the back wall behind the counter. The Golden Potato will pop out for you to pick up.

　　With the Golden Potato acquired, make your way to Dazzle Beach and into the cavern there. On the second floor will be a diamond-shaped item sitting on a stone table, and when you place the Golden Potato on it, it'll transform into a Golden Carrot.

　　Take the Golden Carrot to Elsa's ice cavern in the Forest of Valor and place it on another diamond-shaped item on her table, which will transform it into a Golden Crab. Next, head to the top level of the Dream Castle and use another diamond-shaped item on the banister here to transform the Golden Crab into a Golden Night Thorn.

　　Finally, head to Merlin's house and place the Golden Night Thorn on the diamond-shaped item on his desk. This will grant you the Golden Gleaming Potion.

　　

Get the Red Potato

The Red Potato can be found inside of Remy's house once you've unlocked him from his realm in the castle. Examine the glowing spot on the cabinet against the wall and pick up the Red Potato when it pops out. Now you'll need to cook it into a meal using this recipe:

　　Red Potato x1Raspberry x1Chili Pepper x1Lobster x1Slush Ice x1This will create the Icy-Red Stew. Take this stew to Remy's Realm and place it in the serving window of the kitchen. This will transform it into the Raging Red Potion.

　　

Get the Orange Potato

The Orange Potato requires you to first have completed Scrooge McDuck's quest "Treasure Hunt Part 2." When you've done that, you'll have obtained the Lenses of Shadow, which allows you to see the necessary Orange Pebbles you'll have to find to form the Orange Potato.

　　You'll have to use the Lenses of Shadow to seek out a total of 20 Orange Pebbles laying around the castle and various realms. These are extremely difficult to see, but when you're very close to one, you should see "???" show up, indicating you can pick it up. Below is a breakdown of how many there are in each area.

　　Ratatouille Realm - 1Toy Story Realm - 4Frozen Realm - 3WALL-E Realm - 2Moana Realm - 4Dream Castle - 3Mickey's Secret Room - 3With every Orange Pebble rounded up, head to a crafting station and use all 20 to make the Orange Potato, then use an Empty Vial with the potato to craft the Electrifying Orange Potion.

　　

Get the Blue Potato

The Blue Potato is among the easiest of the mysterious potatoes to find, as you'll be able to score it by simply heading over to Ursula's home and picking it up on the ground there. However, the chances of you stumbling upon the items needed to craft its potion without a guide are next to zero. Here's how to get each of them.

　　Blue Shell - Head to Moana's Realm. From where you spawn, look to the right and note a small section of beach that opens into the water between some palm trees. There is another invisible maze here you can follow out into the water until you find the Blue Shell on an island off the coast.Blue Starfish - Use the raft on Dazzle Beach to return to where you met Ariel. On this island, step out onto the section of the beach that juts out into the water--easily identifiable by a small rock to the left. If you walk straight here, you'll find a long, invisible maze that takes you across the water to a small piece of beach containing the Blue Starfish.Blue Book - Make your way to Dazzle Beach and enter the Mystical Cave. Go to the very bottom of the area, then squeeze yourself into the left side of the water to find an invisible maze that will lead you behind the pillars here to find the Blue Book.Blue Gem - Go to the Sunlit Plateau and enter the Vitalys Mines there. Inside, head right across the rocky bridge and then straight up past all of the mine carts. Take the left near the end of the path, and go left again to reach an area where the tracks have been destroyed. At the very end of the track here, look left to see the Blue Gem across the way, then walk across the invisible path here to reach it.After obtaining the Blue Potato, Blue Book, Blue Starfish, Blue Shell, and Blue Gem, once more venture into the Vitalys Mines. From the entrance, turn left and then right. At the two-way split, go right, then stay straight at the four-way split soon after. Finally, take the next left and walk over to the glowing stones on the wall next to the cart here. Interact with the stones and place the five items here to obtain the Brilliant Blue Potion.

　　The very cute Rainbow Fox will be your reward for all of this hard work. You're nearly there!

Get the Purple Potato

The Purple Potato can be obtained by going to Frosted Heights and entering the room where you first met Olaf. In here, approach the portal at the back of the room and answer its questions using the answers below.

Get the Green Potato

Getting your hands on the Green Potato will first require you to fish up sixteen Emerald Bottles across the biomes of your valley. When fishing for these, you'll know you've snagged one when the puddle turns gold. If it doesn't, then recast and try again.

　　These are mostly easy to see, especially during the day, so rather than detail their exact locations, here's how many you can find in each biome.

　　Peaceful Meadow - 2Dazzle Beach - 5Glade of Trust - 4Sunlit Plateau - 2Forgotten Lands - 1Forest of Valor - 1Frosted Heights - 1With all sixteen Emerald Bottles in your possession, open them one-by-one to get a total of sixteen Emerald Slivers, then go to a crafting station and use these to create the Jade Crystal. Afterward, head to the Vitalys Mines in Sunlit Plateau and make your way to the secret room on the right side of the cave where you can interact with a green orb to unleash a Green Seed.

　　Take the Green Seed and plant it in the Forgotten Lands, water it, and wait for it to grow. When it's finished growing, you can harvest it to earn the Green Potato. Finally, take the Green Potato, the Jade Crystal, and an Empty Vial to a crafting station to make the Crystalline Green Potion.

　　

Make the Rainbow Potion and Get the Rainbow Fox

With all six potions in your inventory, head to a crafting station and use them all to craft the Rainbow Potion. With that out of the way, you can finally make your way to the Dark Castle and begin the process of getting your Rainbow Fox companion. However, you won't be able to access this area unless you've progressed pretty far in the game's main story.

　　When you're ready to get your Rainbow Fox, head through the portal in the Plaza and return to the Dark Castle. Inside, go immediately to the right side of the first room to spot a fox statue next to a bed. Use the Rainbow Potion on the fox statue to get the Rainbow Fox companion.
