Call of Duty and True Crime mobile-izing-April 2024
Apr 26, 2025 3:59 PM

In an apparent signal it is not taking author Robert Crais' lawsuit to stop the release of True Crime: The Streets of L.A. too seriously, Activision today announced plans to bring the game to cell-phone users. The publisher will team up with wireless company the Mforma Group to create a mobile-phone version of its upcoming driving-shooting-fighting actioner.

The two companies also said they would be re-tooling another Activision title, the WWII shooter Call of Duty, for mobile play. The date the pair will be popping up on cell phones was not given, although the two companies did say that both will be available first on American cell networks, with international carriers "following soon thereafter."

True Crime is slated for a November 4 release on Xbox, PlayStation 2, and GameCube. The PC version of Call of Duty will deploy to stores on October 29.
