Oxygen Interactive today announced that it has commissioned Brain In A Jar to develop an original rally driving title for the PlayStation 2 and PC. The game is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of this year, in time for a release ahead of this September's Rally GB.
"We're delighted to be working with Brain In A Jar," said Jim Scott, Oxygen's managing director. "They come to us with a strong code base, a history of successful work with big-name publishers, and huge amounts of enthusiasm. Their love of driving games is really shining through, and we're expecting great things of this title."
"This is a project that suits us perfectly," added Matthew Gabriel, Brain In A Jar's managing director. "We've got flexible, mature racing technology, and rally is a sport that really excites us. Oxygen is proving very easy to work with, and development's racing ahead."
Brain In A Jar's most recent game, IndyCar Series, was published by Codemasters last year. No information on the unnamed rally title now in development has been released at this time, except that it will feature a number of international stages and multiplayer gameplay options. We'll bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
