Adventure game developer Revolution Studios is planning on making a sequel to 1994 adventure game title Beneath a Steel Sky, despite the fact that its recent Kickstarter page for Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse fell short of meeting its target goal.
Expect a Beneath a Steel Sky sequel to be out after the next Broken Sword sequel. The original plan was that the studio would greenlight Beneath a Steel Sky 2 if the Broken Sword Kickstarter goal reached $1 million or higher. The final goal reached $771,561 with 14,032 backers.
According to an interview from website Develop (via The Verge), Revolution co-founder Tony Warriner said that the company was delighted by the huge interest in the franchise. "[We are] currently discussing design ideas for this project which we plan to go into development following the release of Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse."
The company plans to make a PC, Mac, iOS, Android, and Linux version of the sequel. Currently, a remastered version of the first game is out on the iOS app store.
