The battle royale mode for Battlefield V will come next March, DICE has announced. A post on the official site detailed the post-launch roadmap, and announced that the "Firestorm" Battle Royale mode will come in March 2019.
That's the third chapter of its planned content, to follow Chapter 1 (Overture) and Chapter 2 (Lightning Strikes). Overture will bring the tank-focused Panzerstorm map, a new War Story called The Last Tiger, and new vehicle customization features. It's coming roughly two weeks after launch. Then sometime between January and March, Lightning Strikes will add Combined Arms and Squad Conquest.

Now Playing: Battlefield 5 Has Surprisingly Great Skiing In Single Player
Firestorm will support up to 64 players, divided into teams of four. It gets its name from a ring of fire that will close throughout the match, as players scrounge for weapons and fight to be the last team remaining. It's being developed by Criterion rather than DICE. We still don't know much about Firestorm on the whole, considering it wasn't part of the beta.
Battle royale modes are popping up in more games recently. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Battlefield's chief competitor in the military shooter genre, launched with its own battle royale mode called Blackout.
Battlefield V is coming on November 20, following a short delay out of October to respond to feedback from the beta. If you jump in early you can get a few bonus items.
