SYDNEY--THQ's WWE SmackDown! vs RAW 2007 slammed all its competitors to the mat this week, powering its way to the top of the latest Australian games sales charts.
SmackDown! vs RAW 2007 for the PS2 was Australia's best-selling game for the week of November 13 to November 19, according to data trackers GfK Australia. THQ's latest wrestling game relegated last week's winner--EA's Need for Speed Carbon for the PS2--to second place. PlayStation 2 titles once again dominated the overall top 10 charts, with eight entrants being games for Sony's ageing console.
Several other PS2 titles debuted strongly in Australia this week. Scarface: The World Is Yours came in at number five, while Red Octane's Guitar Hero 2 rocked its way to number six. EA's Cricket 07 claimed the eighth spot. The only two non-PS2 games in the top 10 were Nintendogs: Dalmatian and Friends for the Nintendo DS and The Sims 2: Pets for PC.
