Dublin, Ireland-based Funcom and Activision announced that Activision would be publishing Funcom's upcoming motocross racer for the Sony PlayStation worldwide except for Asia.
The unnamed title is due to release this winter.
"This agreement with Funcom expands Activision's portfolio of PlayStation products and strongly positions the company in the rapidly emerging genre of motocross racing," states Eric Johnson, senior vice president of marketing for Activision. "The game will provide players with the unparalleled thrills and challenges of realistic dirt bike racing."
"Our main goal was to achieve the raw essence of motocross racing by capturing the dynamics, sheer power, and excitement of the event," states Martha McGowan, managing director of Funcom, Dublin. "The game's spectacular motocross and supercross track designs are unequaled."
The game will come equipped with four bikes and 12 motocross and supercross tracks. A real-time physics engine will feature dirt kickups, smoke, wheel ruts, and the option for special in-air moves. If you're looking for head-to-head competition, the game will be enabled for multiplayer through a split-screen mode.
