Activision didn't waste any time implementing a top level reorg following Thursday's revelation of a US$5 million loss for the quarter ending June 30.
The company announced Friday the promotion of several key executives and one resignation. Howard Marks, the executive vice president of Activision Studios, has resigned his position as an executive officer and member of the board of directors, but will continue on as a consultant to the company. Brian Kelly, current COO, added the title of president to his list of responsibilities.
The company also added a layer of senior vice presidents, promoting several execs to the title in the following divisions: John Baker for corporate development, Robert Dewar for international publishing, Lawrence Goldberg for business affairs, Eric Johnson for North American marketing, and Ronald Scott for North American distribution.
Alan Gershenfeld and Mitchell Lasky were both named senior vice presidents for Activision Studios - Gershenfeld for internal development, and Lasky for third-party production.
Barry Plaga was named the senior vice president, finance and chief financial officer, and Bradley Crystal became the vice president of OEM sales.
