TeamSpeak and Overwolf have announced a League of Legends Challenger tournament that will be held at Gamescom. This marks the third substantial League of Legends tournament that will be in held in Gamescom, following the European LCS Playoffs and one of the Wildcard Invitational for the Season 4 World Championship.
The tournament, officially named the Gamescom LoL Challenge powered by Teamspeak and Overwolf, will have an overall prize-pool of $15,000 with $7,000 being awarded to the winner, $3,750 to the runner up and $1,875 each to the semi finalists. The tournament will consist of eight teams, four highly rated European Challenger Series teams and four teams that qualify via the FaceIT qualifying tournaments.
