The Wolfenstein series may be famous for its guns-blazing attitude, but Machine Games' upcoming take on the series, Wolfenstein: The New Order, is mixing things up a bit. A new gameplay trailer released today called "Stealth vs. Mayhem" shows off how you'll be able to quietly kill enemies or blow their brains out in the traditional Wolfenstein manner.
Your stealth options include sneaking up behind Nazi enemies and slashing their throats, or finishing them off with a silenced pistol from afar. You can also throw knives to kill enemies and pick locks to enter a room in a more stealthy fashion. On the "mayhem" side, you can blast your enemies to bits with an assortment of high-powered weapons and projectiles. You can also dual-wield many weapons for maximum efficiency.
Wolfenstein: The New Order launches May 20 across Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. The game is set during an alternate 1960s when the Nazi regime used "mysterious advanced technology" to win World War II. As B.J. Blazkowicz, you must find a way to end the terror.
If you preorder Wolfenstein: The New Order, you'll get access to the Doom beta--though it will only be held on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
