Ubi Soft has announced that it has reached an agreement with Jim Henson Company to develop games based on the popular children's show Bear in the Big Blue House. The related games will be released on the Sony PlayStation, Nintendo GameCube, and the Game Boy Advance handheld. Although specific financial terms were not released, it was announced that the course of the agreement lasts for seven years.
"It is extraordinarily rare to discover a television series as smart and as playful as Bear in the Big Blue House for the 2-7 year old market," Yves Guillemot, president and CEO of Ubi Soft. "Children are some of the toughest critics around, and they have overwhelmingly given their approval to Bear and his friends. To be entrusted with developing games based on such a well-done series is both a great honor for us and a challenge which Ubi Soft and its designers will undoubtedly meet with success."
The Bear in the Big Blue House television show airs daily on Playhouse Disney.
