Zachary Quinto, who portrays Spock in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek movies, has joined the cast of the upcoming Agent 47 based on the Hitman games, Deadline reports.
Quinto joins Homeland star Rupert Friend, who replaced Paul Walker as the lead assassin agent 47 after the actor died in a car crash last year. It is unknown what Quinto's role is in the movie.
Variety previously reported that Walker's commitment to the project was a major factor in getting it greenlit, and shooting, which was set to begin in February, was postponed after his death.
Now Deadline reports that shooting will begin in March.
Agent 47 will be set as the sequel to the Hitman movie from 2007 starring Justified's Timothy Olyphant. Aleksander Bach will direct from a script written by A Good Day to Die Hard writer Skip Woods and Michael Finch.
There are multiple new Hitman games in development, including a new AAA project from series creator IO Interactive, as well as mobile games from Square Enix Montreal.
