Naughty Dog Releases Update For The Last Of Us Part I PC Port-October 2024
Oct 19, 2024 3:31 PM

The Last Of Us Part I isn't running so great on PC and Steam Deck, and Naughty Dog has released a hotfix mostly focused on improving stability and performance. The studio confirmed this is the first of a series of patches meant to improve the game’s current state.

The official patch notes are short, and Naughty Dog noted that it is "closely watching player reports and actively working on a patch with more bugfixes, to be released soon." The devs also added more diagnostic tools in the hotfix as well "to assist in investigating shader building related crashes" and other stability issues.

Previously a PlayStation exclusive, The Last of Us Part I remake finally came to PC and Steam Deck on March 28. It's been poorly received, with many players pointing out glitches, crashes, and other poor performance issues. Shaders taking a long time to build on initial start up has been an issue players noted in their negative reviews on Steam, something Naughty Dog acknowledged in the patch notes and said it is taking a look at.

There have been funny glitches, like characters suddenly being wet for no reason. One moment they're dry, and the next it looks like they've all been sweating profusely during a chat about guns.
