Mortal Kombat 11's Rain Gameplay Trailer Is Wet And Bloody-October 2024
Oct 19, 2024 6:29 AM

Mortal Kombat 11's roster will soon increase with a new Kombat Pack that features the fan-requested Mileena and Hollywood movie icon John Rambo, complete with Sly Stallone's actual voice. The third character being added is Edenia's divine protector Rain, who was last playable in Mortal Kombat 9 and skipped out on Mortal Kombat X, save for a brief appearance in that game's campaign.

Developer NetherRealm has released a new trailer for the water-bending ninja, and just like every other character trailer that was released for Mortal Kombat 11, it concludes with a grisly end for Rain'’s victim as one of his two fatalities is shown off:

In the gameplay trailer above, Rain can use a variety of special abilities to not only deal damage but also avoid it. Now wielding water and lightning powers thanks to his demigod blood, Rain can liquefy himself so that attacks pass right through him and he can travel into a water realm by ripping open a rift in the fabric of reality. For a more basic approach, he also has a katar weapon with which he can deal lethal damage to opponents.

Rain will join the Mortal Kombat 11 roster on November 17 as part of the recently announced Ultimate Edition of the game, which includes all of the existing DLC and Kombat Pack 2 for $60. Alternatively, you can purchase the Kombat Pack 2 for $15 to gain access to Rain, Mileena, and Rambo.

NetherRealm also said that the digital versions will be the way to access these characters until physical versions of the game arrive in January 2021. On the plus side, you'll be able to upgrade your current-gen version of Mortal Kombat 11 to its PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S version for free.
