Mandalorian Season 2 Casts Star Wars Clone Wars Actor Katee Sackhoff For Live-Action Role - Report-November 2024
Nov 14, 2024 9:57 PM

With Season 2 of Mandalorian coming this fall to Disney+ (update: catch its first official trailer here), more and more casting news is popping up. The latest report is that Katee Sackhoff will return to the Star Wars universe to play the live-action version of Bo-Katan Kryze.

Sackoff--who played Starbuck in Syfy's Battlestar Galactica reboot--voiced the Mandalorian warrior Kryze in both the Clone Wars and Rebels animated series, and now, she'll be appearing as the character in a live-action role for this fall's new Season of Mandalorian, according to a report from Slash Film. Apparently, she filmed her role for the show back in February, prior to the coronavirus pandemic.

Now Playing: Baby Yoda's Best Moments In The Mandalorian

Kryze is the Mandalorian who fought against Darth Maul as he ruled over the planet during the Clone Wars TV series. During Rebels, Kryze became the owner of the Darksaber--the weapon Moff Gideon is holding at the end of Season 1 of Mandalorian--after Sabine Wren gave it to her. And Gideon actor Giancarlo Esposito revealed recently that there is a lot more Darksaber action coming in Season 2.

Sackoff isn't the only recognizable name to join the series. It's been reported that Michael Biehn (Aliens, Terminator) will be joining the cast as a bounty hunter Mando has dealt with in the past. Additionally, there were various reports that Rosario Dawson will be playing the live-action version of Ahsoka Tano--originally voiced by Ashley Eckstein. Tano was the Jedi padawan during Clone Wars, and she also appeared in a few episodes of Rebels as well. She is one of Star Wars fans' favorite characters to come out of the prequel stories.

Mandalorian Season 2 returns to Disney+ this fall.
