Electronic Arts plans to release a CD-ROM version of its online adventure game Majestic later this year, according to Reuters. The decision is reportedly due to the lower-than-expected demand for the online game. The Los Angeles Times stated today that the game has attracted around 13,500 subscribers since its launch in August, which is well below EA's expectations. Representatives from EA were unavailable for comment at press time.
Majestic's first episode was released in early August, followed by a second episode at the beginning of September. The game makes use of innovative interactive features that directly contact players through e-mail, voice messages, instant messaging, fax machines, and other methods of communication.
