Insomniac Games, the famous studio behind the highly successful Marvel's Spider-Man franchise and many other titles, has been reportedly hacked by the Ransomware operator Rhysida.

　　The attack isn't just a simple one since the group behind it has released some of the company's "confidential" data, including screenshots of the studio's upcoming title, Marvel's Wolverine, discloses character art allegedly made for the game. Moreover, the personal information of the studio's employees, including both current and former staff, has also been leaked online. The voice actor behind Marvel's Spider-Man Peter Parker, Yuri Lowenthal, has also seen a data breach in the ransomware attack performed by the group Rhysida.

　　The leaked image also includes some documents and internal emails of the studio, but we cannot decipher what they are due to their blurriness. The Rhysida group has allegedly offered an ultimatum to Insomniac Games, claiming the studio has seven days before the full data is published online. Furthermore, the group is also running an auction for the data with an initial price of 50 bitcoins, amounting to at least $2 million. This is what they had to say on their website:

　　Ransomware attacks on game studios are something that has been seen on several occasions in the past, and they ruin the overall environment for both developers and consumers as a whole. We do hope that Insomniac Games finds a way out of this and prevents any further confidential data from surfacing online. As a reminder, Marvel's Wolverine will be released for the PlayStation 5 console. It has no release date at this time, but it is expected between 2024 and 2025.
