As you might assume with a collection of four games--all of them with campaigns, co-op, and competitive multiplayer--343 and Microsoft had a lot of potential achievements that it could include in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. And while there was once a limit on the number of achievements (or gamerscore) that any one game could offer, MCC scoffs at that notion more than any other game has before, offering more achievements than you could ever hope to shake a battle rifle at.
The full list of achievements found in MCC has been published by IGN, and it is a simply staggering amount. In total, you can earn 4,000 gamerscore, thanks to each game having anywhere from 51 to 111 achievements. Halo 2 has the most, no doubt thanks to Halo 2 Anniversary being such a central component of the whole package.
Many of these achievements are new. Some acknowledge the way some people like myself play (don't let any marines die on the beach in Halo: CE's The Silent Cartographer mission) and others reference release dates (play Halo 2, released on November 9, 2004, on the ninth day of any month).
On top of the game-specific achievements, there are what are called "overall achievements," some of which encompass tasks you'll need to complete across multiple games. These include collecting all of the skulls in the first three games, or completing the campaign in all four games on a specific difficulty. Some of these achievements connect with a new leaderboards system being implemented for MCC.
This week, we learned what multiplayer playlists will be available at launch. Like the achievements, some are game-specific, while others will have you jumping back and forth between the collection's different games.
The Master Chief Collection launches for Xbox One on November 11.
