About the project:

Kitsune Skazka is a 2d adventure with a unique visual style, hardcore boss fights and multiple story paths.

  

  The player has to find out little kitsune’s story and defeat the bosses.

  The bosses can be defeated in various ways. from a head-on clash, to kindness and cunning.

  The character's personality changes throughout the game. His speech changes, so do his interactions with other characters, etc. the endings depends on the state in which the character reaches it, what experience he gained during his journey based on the player's choices.

  The game's story and characters are inspired by coming of age and Japanese mythology.

  Game duration - about 4.5 hours

  

Story:

Kitsune is a naive little fox who dreams of becoming a cool nine-tailed fox. To do this, he needs to use his soul for the Hundred Demon Night Parade (Hyakki Yagyo), and for this he needs to leave his home and go on an adventure.

  

  The adventure itself is about initiation, growing up and getting to know the real world.

  Monsters are metaphors familiar to the player - lies, cruelty, betrayal, temptation, etc.

  In the shell of a fairy tale, there is a hidden path that everyone has passed. And it is primarily about studying the world and yourself through its prism, about the kindness hidden under a terrible nature, and about the fact that growing up and getting to know the world is an exciting adventure (sometimes risky).

  

Gameplay:

The gameplay is split into 2 parts.

  RPG – tells both the character’s and the world’s story. The player meets other characters, collects different items, completes quests, explores locations, and most importantly – makes decisions, which directly affect the story and gameplay.

  Boss fights are 1v1 battles where the player needs to move around the arena with the boss and his attack timings, so that the boss deals damage to himself, as the player cannot attack themselves. Boss fights are the climactic viewpoints of the chapters.

  All bosses are unique both in terms of visuals and gameplay. Each of the bosees is a personification of what a person encounters in the outside world while growing up.

  The amount of bosses met by the player and what they are is determined by the player’s choices through the RPG part.

  

  All decisions made by the player during the adventure affect the gameplay of the boss, what buffs the fox gets/doesn't get (e.g. +1 life), and how the story unfolds.
