Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke has finally confirmed she will be part of the Secret Invasion Television show. She'll be joining Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, both actors reprising their roles from previous MCU films.
Talking to Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show, Clarke expressed her enthusiasm and joking concern about her ability to keep a secret this long.
"I'm already scared," she said laughing. "The first people I spoke to from Marvel were their security team, and I am convinced that there is a man outside my house. There's been a car parked there for a long time, and I swear to God, he's undercover."
The title Secret Invasion is from the major comic book crossover event that lasted for more than a year back in 2008. It centered around the fact that that the shape-shifting Skrulls had "invaded" the highest ranks of civilization on the planet...some of them were even posing as members of multiple Marvel teams like the Avengers and the X-Men.
We've seen Skrulls have been around for decades now in the MCU, watching and waiting, and infiltrated SHIELD already with Mendelsohn's Talos having been an agent for years. 2018's Captain Marvel opened up a little about the Kree/Skrull War. In addition, WandaVision gave SWORD agent Monica Rambeau her true calling, and Nick Fury's whereabouts in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
A planned release date for Secret Invasion on Disney Plus has not been announced yet.
