Deadly Premonition director to helm Lord of Apocalypse-December 2024
Dec 20, 2024 12:39 PM

During last week's pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference, Sony announced a Japanese release date for its upcoming PlayStation Vita, and at the same time, it unveiled the full list of the console's 26 launch titles.

Swery is directing Square Enix's Lord of Apocalypse.

One of titles announced during the press conference was Square Enix's Lord of Apocalypse, the action role-playing game follow-up to this year's Lord of Arcana. That title was developed by Access Games and directed by Deadly Premonition director and Access cofounder Hidetaka Suehiro (or Swery, as he's more commonly known).

Now, according to Swery's personal blog, the Japanese developer will once again take the helm to direct the upcoming Lord of Apocalypse.

"If you'll excuse my presumptuousness, it's a new action RPG developed and directed by me," the developer said on his blog. "Of course, the wonderful developers over at Square Enix are doing an amazing job on this game for us, as well. Allow me to express my deepest gratitude to you all."

Suehiro is the cofounder of Access Games, the writer and director of Spy Fiction, and the director of Deadly Premonition and Lord of Arcana.

Deadly Premonition was released in February last year on the Xbox 360 in North America, and it was reviewed favorably for its blend of humor and unpredictable horror elements.

Lord of Apocalypse will be released on both the PlayStation Vita and the PSP.
