In Monet Heist, you play as Salvador Daring, a wanted criminal on his way to the national museum for a heist! You need to sneak through a complex museum to steal the Golden Duck, a masterpiece created by the renowned artist, Clauda Monet. But beware, you are being monitored by outdated, busted-up surveillance cameras operating around the compound. It's your job to get in and get out without being seen!

Centered around this year's GMTK Game Jam theme, ‘Out of Control’, the team worked together ceaselessly over 48 hours to create a game that we find most befitting of the topic. This manifested as a stealth-puzzle, second-person perspective game that balances both 2D and 3D elements to create a unique experience for all players, titled ‘Monet Heist’ (all puns intended and appreciated).

This game jam was a perfect opportunity for us to exhibit and practice our game development skills, as all assets in the game, from the art to the music composition, had been painstakingly designed by our team, Space Quackers. We did our best to provide a retro user experience and interesting narrative despite the limited production timeline and restrictions.

We had initially created this game for GMTK Game Jam 2020, but we were unable to submit our entry. However, we submitted it for the GMTK Deadline Missers Jam, where we clinched 4th place!

The core of our game was developed during the game jam time frame, but we have since optimised and polished the game in the days that followed (and have plans to add so much more)!

We hope you enjoy the game!
