　　The mountain peak looks down at the mortal hamlet. It whispers promises of riches and divinity, the heavens of a feathered folk proud to forsake the earth and the flightless.

　　Nikko looks out the window at the falling snow and sighs. She wraps herself in wool and covers her whole head. The humans never let her forget that removing them means her death.

　　Thus is the fate of a half blood: a beast to the flightless, a disgrace to the winged.

　　But the woods are calling. Ghosts, they sing. Winds carry echoes in gaps between the trees: the song of a hollow yearning, an abyssal longing for belonging.

　　“You can have what you desire, child,” says the witch in the woods. “Beauty, peace, acceptance and love.”

　　“For the price of a beating heart.”

　　The initial demo released for Phantasia Jam 2023 is about 6,249 words long and plunges the reader headfirst into the small world of Nikko's hidden snow blanketed village. Enjoy the scenery of an Ukiyo-e inspired art direction coupled with an original soundtrack that lends itself to a grounded and immersive experience.

　　For the full game, expect to choose between two routes and two fates: Nikko's path with the humans, or Nikko's path with the birdfolk. There will be 4 love interests and an estimated 8-10 Endings.

　　There is no release date yet for the full experience but expect an update to the demo within a couple of months.

　　The world of Kirei (綺麗) can often be treacherous for the unwary. To help prepare you for safe travels, please be aware that this game contains visual depictions of blood and gore (including eye trauma and self-inflicted injury), as well as descriptions of violence, murder, child endangerment, and themes of discrimination/bigotry on the basis of race.
