About
Factory is a puzzle-platformer game where you inhabit a robotic head and explore a factory to learn <redacted>.Why are you here? How can you get out? Who runs the factory? Perhaps you'll discover the answers to these questions... if they can be answered at all.
Features
Retro-style gameplay with a modern feel. Head-swapping action. Environmental puzzles. A story told in fragments.Controls
Keyboard and gamepad compatible. ????️=Z and ❎=X on a QWERTY keyboard.Respawning Hints!
Hidden in case you don't want any Tapping ❎ will set a checkpoint. Holding ❎ will reset you back to the previous checkpoint. Checkpoints stack - if you reset immediately after dying/resetting then you will be reset to your previous checkpoint. Use this if you get stuck...Paid Version?
Currently the paid version is exactly the same as the HTML version on this page. (Although you can download it!) However, if it sells enough copies then I plan to extend it to add additional content. Making a game is a long process and sales are uncertain, so letting folk support me in this way is my attempt at 'crowdfunding' production.Purchasing the game at its current (discounted) price will entitle you to any future versions with additional content - the web version will no longer be updated. If the game doesn't sell enough copies to fund an extended version then you still get a downloadable game and are helping to support my future projects!
Handhelds
I have included a .p8.png version of the file for those of you with handhelds. This contains a minified version of the source code for the game. Purchasing this does not give you a licence to reuse or redistribute the game source or its assets. This file is only likely to run on official Pico-8 software.Status | Prototype |
