Hi, and welcome to Dear Love Goddess — a short, 1000-word visual novel about a young man named Roan, who's from a world where, on the cusp of adulthood, some people are chosen by a variety of gods!
Roan is chosen by one of these very deities, an ancient love goddess who hasn't had any worshipers in centuries, but he isn't sure how to approach her, so he writes her a letter.
But Roan has a lot in his mind, and it's liable to color his words — and actions.
Content Warnings: More content warnings can be found in a text file inside the game's files, but it's important to note that this game deals with a lot of religious themes (somewhat fantastical ones, given the setting, but I still use Christian terminology, like "bishop", as well as occasionally using terms I believe to be commonly used in American Protestant congregations, like "flock"). It also deals with themes of rejection and one-sided love, with potential unspoken implications of homophobia (as well as one indirect, speculative mention). It's not necessarily a very emotionally heavy story, I don't think, but it is a bit of a bummer.
Credits and bonus lore can also be found in that text file.
Made for O2A2 2023. My first digital game, too! Very exciting!!
